5 Ways to Spice Up Your Home Office

We've been immersed in a year filled with Zoom calls, virtual coffee dates, and a constant rotation of face masks. Lives have been greatly affected, and businesses have transitioned into full, remote working. However, many homes don't provide the luxuries of a separate, secluded office for an optimal work ethic. To make better use of the space you have, consider these 5 tips to spice up your home office!

  1. Seek out the most natural light--consider the windows in your home and which direction they face. An increase in natural light can boost your vitamin B, improve your sleep, and even help defend against blue and fluorescent lighting damages.

  2. Keep your space clean and open--an open desk means an open mind! Letting your space be clean and free enables you to manage your tasks one at a time. When you make a conscious effort to clean your space at the end of a workday, you provide a proper closing between work life and home life.

  3. Add some greens--not the detox teas, rather plants! Indoor plants can provide a lot of good for you and your home, such as releasing oxygen into your space. Succulents are an easy transition into indoor planting, as they require minimal water and care.

  4. Consider a minifridge--sometimes it's easy to forget to stay hydrated when booked with meetings and projects. There are plenty of resonably priced fridges to keep at your desk-side for water and your midday pick-me-up snack!

  5. Find the right chair and desk--some days when our meetings run long, our comfort comes second. That's why it is so important to find the right setup for your style. Nowadays, there are options to suit any comfort such as firm and cushioned chairs or even treadmill desks.
